Greetings Friends,
Our Father who is in heaven has entrusted to all of us things on this earth and in this life time that we are to be stewards of. When we look at what we have in a proper perspective we can see that it has all been entrusted to us by God through others. “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job).
Even as I was working on this the Lord has entrusted us with another blessing, a soul that He wishes us to disciple and train up to be His servant. Kim did an incredible job laboring and delivered a healthy 9+ pound boy. 2 April 2008 at 4:15 pm, his name is Daniel Gebhardt (Great Heart in German) Fuhrmann
The Lord, in His timing and through providential circumstances, has led us to “the farm”. Our Father in heaven has been carefully leading us to minister through a farm and teaching us a lot about faith and patience as we incline our ears and hearts to Him. This has been a very interesting year full of many changes and “light and momentary” challenges. In honor of our beloved earthly fathers who have gone on before us and to remember the heavenly Father who sustains, saves, and provides for us we named the farm “Our Father’s Farm”. The farm is such a blessing! Please pray about coming for a visit! That is why we have it. It is located at 2664 Deer View Rd. Gretna, VA 24557. We are doing a bit of remodeling and trying to get it ready for move in on May 14th. Then we hope to start with the animals and crops, as well as the addition for Jacques’ Mother. If the Lord wills it, we will have available for pre purchase, all natural foods grown and fed the way God intended them to be. Beef, Poultry, Eggs, Milk, in the future sheep/goats, vegetables. Gretna is about 40 minutes south of Lynchburg. We hope to have a web site up soon www.ourfathersfarmva.com check it out.
Our hope and vision is for our home to be a ministry center. Our prayer is that many will come through for short and long visits. We hope to have folks living with us for various periods of time. Please consider coming or referring someone you know to spend time with us, as we learn together about serving the Lord and serving the world through farm living and outreach.
We have some friends that have offered to come stay with us for a little while to get the farm business started. Pray for the logistics of this to work out and for the provision of some type of camper that they could temporarily stay in. Some have mentioned wanting to help in the past, well now is a great time as we remodel, prepare to move in, and get the animals going. Please call 757-769-8113 or e-mail [email protected]
Many of you responded to our request for prayer when the country of Chad was experiencing war in the Capital city. Thank you for praying for the Chadian people and the workers during the time of conflict. Things have stabilized a bit, but most of the missionaries have not returned to the country. Pray for them to have wisdom about when to return to the work. Pray for the Chadians as they are suffering from the increased cost of living due to the destruction in the capital city after the war. Praise God that work on the Bible translation projects continues and God is causing the work to move along speedily! Pray for the word to spread rapidly and be Glorified despite the depleted missionary population. Pray for those Chadians who are in the household of faith to be strong and bold and bear witness and fruit.
We sure love you all and thanks for staying in touch.
