From Beginner to Fully Equipped Family Radio Operator
Do you have a desire to own and operate radios and yet feel overwhelmed with the complication and where to start? Join us for this one-of-a-kind class built to take you to a competency with radios in practical life and disaster scenarios.
Date: Friday, 15 November 2024 This is the stand-alone class. Optionally you are invited to stay for Saturday 16 Nov. 2024 to program your radios and gain more experience and competency.

You will learn from our experienced and knowledgeable:
How to build an off-grid communications plan for emergencies.
How to configure and program radios to make them work for you.
How to implement radios in everyday life in non-emergencies.
How to build an off-grid communications plan for emergencies.
Knowing how to set up antenna systems.
How to use radios for local, regional, national, and international communication.
How to strategically navigate radio rules, regulations and licensing.
How to implement encryption and talking in code.
How to be a community listening post and monitor emergency services.
How to study for and take your HAM radio exam for licensing.
Developing a national network of like-minded families to communicate with.
You will also learn how to use your radios for short- and long-range communications using VHF, UHF, and HF radio systems.
You will learn basic radio theory, radio programming, utilizing repeaters, radio etiquette, and plenty more. Includes both lecture and practical components that will enable you to competently and effectively utilize comms in handheld, on body/wearable, vehicle, and stationary radio contexts. No previous knowledge or experience is required.
You will need to bring at least one handheld radio to the class. Once you register, we will send you recommendations on radios and purchasing options.
Cost $95 which includes, the daylong seminar, information handouts and practical hands-on training, and a lunch made of delicious natural foods from Our Father’s Farm. $25 for each additional family participant. This event is not intended for the entire family, but for the few strategic members that will be the radio experts of the family. We want each family to be radio operational, if finances are an issue, please reach out to hear of scholarships.
The first day is a self-contained class containing all the information you will need. For those who can stay two days we are offering an additional day on Saturday where you will be able to program your own radio, get personal help and increase your competence level. We will also have an evening of fellowship Friday night.
