Our Father’s Farm New Chicken house.
The First Fresh Chickens of the Year:

We are going to process about 150 chickens Thursday the 30th of may. Please consider coming out and helping us with the processing, it’s a great homesteading adventure, learning to process your own chickens.

You can come and pick them up fresh on Thursday afternoon, or we can deliver them frozen to our usually delivery points. We will have whole chickens and some parts, let us know what you want.  You can order by e-mail or phone.  For our price list click here .  The whole chickens are 3.95 a pound. [email protected]

All Natural beyond organic chickens:

fed non GMO grain and they are on grass. The new chicken house we have allows them to have fresh air constantly! As you can see in the picture above there are no sides which lets the air circulate through. They are the healthiest chickens! I have seen them running around in the grass fenced in area looking for bugs, and over all living a very relaxed not stressed happy life! They are the best tasting, tender and healthy chickens ever!

Below is a recipe maybe some of you will enjoy.

Garlic Chicken Pasta

2 cups cooked chicken, cut into bite sized pieces (great way to use up leftover chicken)
1 clove garlic or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or more if you like lots of garlic)
1-2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 1/2 cups whole wheat pasta
3 cups whole milk
3 Tablespoons butter
1/2 t. sea salt
grated Parmesan cheese

In a skillet, saute chicken and garlic in olive oil.  Turn to low heat to keep warm.  Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a big pot with the milk, butter and salt.  Stir almost constantly, especially as the pasta is becoming tender and the milk is beginning to boil.  Cook and stir over medium heat until pasta is tender and the starch from the pasta has thickened the milk, creating a creamy sauce.  Stir in the chicken and serve immediately…sprinkling Parmesan cheese on each serving.

The chickens when they were younger.  Bear the chickens guard Dog.  Yummy Grilled Chicken!
